Powys Youth Forum
Powys Youth Forum Members come from across the county. Each young person represents a group or organisation - for example school councils, colleges, local community youth forums, young carers and voluntary organisations in Powys.
The forum meets four times a year for a three day residential. Members of the forum work hard on local and national issues, policies and legislation but there is always an element of fun.
Examples of things we do are:
- Developed training packs
- Deliver workshops
- Act as Youth Inspectors for the National Participation Awards
- Comment on policies and strategies that affect young people
- Stand up for young people’s rights

Freedom
Freedom is for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Questioning (LGBTQ) young people who are aged up to 25 years in Powys.
The group has a profile on facebook which is a great way of getting in touch with us to find out more about the youth group meetings.

Eat Carrots
Eat Carrots be Safe from Elephants group is the Junior Local Safeguarding Children’s Board (LSCB). The group is made up of young people from all over Powys between the ages of 11 – 18 years, who all come from many different backgrounds, have different experiences, varying interests and have come up against a variety of problems. The one thing they all have in common is their desire to enable young people’s voices to be heard and to make things better for young people across Powys.
The group works closely with members of the LSCB and meets three times a year to decide what concerns they want to take to the Board and also to discuss progress on issues already raised. Members of the LSCB are invited to join the young people at their meetings and Eat Carrots have member reps who attend the LSCB meetings.
